The Importance of Personal Brand In A Business

What is personal brand and its function?

I am one of those people who believe that personal brand is important. While there are some figures who think otherwise, I would agree with that belief.

Some who disagree with the importance of personal brand assume that the most important for them is the company brand, not personal. There are also among them assume that the most important product is not personal.

Whatever the reason, I still believe that personal brand is important. Very important. Why?

1. Raising CREDIBILITY & AUTHORITY.

Whether or not people with credibility and authority are aware of it are more likely to be heard than the average person.

So important, Jack Ma sampe-sampe has a special quote, it reads:

"When you are poor, not successful, all your wise words sound like farts, but when you are rich and successful, your fart sounds very wise and inspiring."

The words are in line with the story of Tukul Arwana who had been interviewed by Mario Teguh on one of his programs:

That's the importance of personal brand, raising credibility and authority.

Who has a higher credibility, he will be more trustworthy. Talking must be heard, because not just nonsense.

Including the subject of automatic, who has higher authority, he will be more heard. The proof?

Health problems, doctors said more heard than a mechanic.

About the machine, the word mechanic is more heard than a lawyer. Legal arguments, lawyers say more heard than doctors say.

...etc.

2. MAKE FOLLOWERS

A person with a strong personal brand will bring in many followers. Examples of artists, their personal brand average strong, the proof we know them. That's why his followers are many. The more followers, the more the market. That means, the stronger the personal brand, the more followersnya, and the greater the potential marketnya.

Do not be surprised, the endorse artist phenomenon and the rampant programming in Instagram. Why? Because they have a very large number of followers.

Do not envy them, because they build their personal brand is not short, alias long. If you want to be like them, build a personal brand as well.

3. INCREASING SELF-AWARENESS

That is, raising people's self-awareness of us that we exist. Do not let, die and our lives are very useless.

With a strong personal brand, will unconsciously facilitate us in leaving a trail in life.

So, build a personal brand not only business interests, but think for your life as well.

This is not about famous or not, unless you feel you will live forever (and do business forever), will not die, so no need to create a personal brand.

So, what is Personal Branding?

To quote Jezz Bezos, the Amazon Founder, one of the richest people in the world today, "Personal brand is what others say about us when we are not in the room."

So what do you say, what you wear, what you do, will unconsciously shape your personal brand.

An easy way to see how strong your personal brand in the current Google era is to type your name on the Google search engine. Look no the name, or type your name on Youtube, appear or not its name.

In fact, to see how influential you are to your Facebook friends, try to create a status like this:

If that comments a lot, it means you have an influence on them.

If the comments are few, it means you have no influence on them.
